Frog Fences Specifications and Purpose
WILDLIFE EXCLUSION ZONE
Frog Fences are installed for the purpose of protecting wildlife – Frogs, Lizards, Snakes, by creating an exclusion zone preventing wildlife from entering construction areas or high traffic areas .
The Frog Fences are also installed to contain the specific wildlife to a particular area to ensure protection and breeding of the wildlife.
Our Frog Fences can be custom made to suit your specific specifications . We have three different types of the Frog Fence :
TEMPORARY FROG FENCE
Temporary Frog Fence is best used where the Frog fence is only required for a short period of time during construction and or earthworks and is to be removed at the completion of these works.
With the temporary Frog Fence the 50% UV fabric is trenched into the ground to a depth of 200mm and installed to a height of 1.1 mtrs.
Star pickets with caps are installed at 3 mtr centres in two rows to create an over hang with three wire strands running through the star pickets .
The fabric is then fixed to the wire strands and backfilled to complete Frog Fence ( see photos attached )
SEMI PERMANENT FROG FENCE
Semi permanent Frog Fences are best used when the Frog Fence is required to be on site for longer periods of time EG: 12 to 18 mths
As with the temporary Frog Fence the 50% UV fabric is trenched into the ground to a depth of 200mm and installed to a height of 1.1 mtrs.
Two part custom made posts are manufactured to allow the posts to be rammed into the ground and form the over hang with three strands of wire running through the custom made posts.
The fabric is then fixed to the wire strands and backfilled to complete the Frog Fence ( see photos attached )
PERMANENT FROG FENCE
Permanent Frog Fence is to be install when the Frog Fence is required to be in place for a long period of time EG : a number of years
Once again the 50% UV fabric is trenched into the ground to a depth of 200mm and installed to a height of 1.1 mtrs
With the permanent Frog Fence we use a custom made one piece post which is concreted into the ground in a pre drilled holes, four strands of wire are then fitted through the custom made posts.
The fabric is then fixed to the wire strands and backfilled to complete the Frog Fence ( see attached photos )
PLEASE NOTE : All installations are completed to comply with specifications as per each individual sites Development Approval.
